I found a way to set css on your profile, since the button is broken.
TLDR: Copy the css form from a group's settings and paste it in your profile settings.

Own a group
Open group settings
Open Inspect Element
Select the set css form
Copy inner html
Open your profile settings
Select your profiles' css form
Paste inner html
The submit button now actually works

For some reason, the set css form in groups always works but occasionally breaks on profiles.
