hello I'm not a pro either but you should consider watching this video first https://youtu.be/QEJoDPAB8M4?t=159 (it's not on this version of myspace but it fundamentaly works the same)
and if you have time to read, w3school is a good place to understand hot CSS works on a solid level
you should also try looking at other people css and see how they coded their pages to steal and rearange some code (you type https://meb.trolled.lol/u/[the user id here]/style.css)

stealing code is a good way to start and I wouldn't call my page necessarily good but you could try to see how my code behave for exemple
don't use w3schools if you are planning on making good solutions
use mozilla css lessons
